Greener Living #3 Rinse No More
According to Consumer Reports, pre-rinsing dishes does not necessarily improve a dishwasher's ability to clean them. By skipping the wash before the wash, you can save up to 20 gallons of water per dishload. At one load a day, that's 7300 gallons over the course of the year. Not to mention that you're saving time, dishwashing soap, and the energy used to heat the additional water.

Me too. I rinse plates but do so rather quickly and without soap. I have never understood the whole wash the dishes before putting in the dishwasher thing. I might do a quick rub on a dirty pan, but that's it. Besides it's only been within the past 6 months that I actually use my dishwasher.
I am very lazy. I hardly ever wash or even rinse before putting my dishes in our dishwasher. I figure that is why I spent so much money on one so I didn't have to.
That's so true. Why waste money on a dishwasher if all you're going to do is wash the dishes yourself? Plus, it's a total waste of water and soap so it's costing you even more money.
