Catch up
I have so much to write about and not a lot of time, so I'll get in as much as I can. First off, and most important of course, I had an doctor appointment today. Shawn couldn't take off work, so I invited my mom. I figured she would enjoy going with me, and this way she could meet the doctor too. It was a short, sweet visit. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat again, which mom thought was pretty cool. I was surprised to hear that I've only gained 5 pounds total since I feel like I'm bulging at the waistline, but still no pregnant belly yet. My old pants are definitely too tight for me to wear, so I'm loving the pants Lisa gave me and a couple pairs of jean capris that are from my plus size days. I'm so glad I didn't throw out my big clothes after I lost weight. I always planned to use them for maternity clothes, and I'm so grateful now that I planned ahead like that. During the appointment today, I also had the blood taken for the AFP test. I decided I wanted to go ahead and have it done. I know it's common to have a false positive reading, but I'd rather know if something is wrong with baby before hand so I can prepare for it. Shawn said whatever I wanted to do, he was happy with. Also, I called to make the appointment for the anatomical ultrasound, which is now scheduled for May 15th. Only two more weeks to find out what we're having. Hooray!!! Then everyone can start shopping, cuz I know Erin, my mom, and I are waiting to buy anything until I found out what I'm having. Erin was so cute the other day when she said for me to hurry up and find out already so she can start shopping. Ahhh...she's such a cute auntie. I'm bummed because I've been so busy with stuff lately, that I haven't had time to read any of my pregnancy books and magazines. I'm looking forward to my dumb class being over. 4 more weeks. Then I will have more free time for baby stuff. By then I should be able to start clearing out the guest room and decorating the nursery. I so can't wait for that!
Other fun news to share: I went to Arbonne's national training celebration last week. IT ROCKED!!! This year's was even better than last year's, and I didn't think that was possible. I had so much fun. I roomed with Tammi, a sideline from LA. I had a blast with her. By the end of the week, we agreed that our sides and cheeks hurt from so much laughing. As for the training, all the speakers were so awesome and motivating. Jack Canfield and Steve Farber, our guest speakers, have me so pumped up that I can't wait to start all my new ideas. I love going to these trainings because it reminds me just how much I love Arbonne! Yes, starting your own business is a challenge, but it's the most rewarding and fulfilling challenge I could ask for. I have 100% belief that I'm in the right business and doing the right thing for my family. This company has heart and soul, something I desperately needed in my career. It's enriched my life already so much, and I haven't even started seeing the financial rewards yet. My business is going slow right now, but that's alright. I just haven't found the right people yet who want to commit in order to achieve their dreams, but I know those people are out there. And once I find them, they are going to the top!
Last week, Arbonne introduced all the new products, which I'm super pumped about. We have new vitamins for children and teens, plus a whole line of products for teens. The tinted moisturizers are awesome! I love the fact that Arbonne doesn't want to ignore the teen market, but they also don't want to encourage teens to wear a ton of makeup, so the products they've introduced are simple and very natural looking. The last thing we need to encourage is more hussy-looking, Britney look-a-likes. This weekend I'm hosting two open houses so all my friends, family, and Arbonne contacts can come check out all the new stuff. I'm hoping to have a steady stream of people both days.
One night last week, Kristi, Tammi, and I went to see Menopause at the Las Vegas Hilton. I HIGHLY recommend all the women I know to go see this musical. It's hilarious. And kind of scary because I don't want to start thinking about all the changes we go through during menopause. The songs are awesome because they're parodies of famous songs and brilliantly done. There is a touring company for Menopause, so be sure to check it out if it comes to your neck of the woods. I believe it will be in Laguna Beach soon. Tammi's good friend from high school is in the production, so after the show, we got to grab a bite with her and another woman from the show. We had a great night. Thanks so much Tammi for including me.
My hectic summer schedule is starting. Next weekend, we will be in Bakersfield for Mike Kobliska's graduation party. Mike is Shawn's best friend from high school. He's graduating from USC Dental School. FINALLY! Then the following weekend we'll be back in Bako for Greg Saiki's wedding, another of Shawn's best friends. Shawn is a groomsman, so we will be there for the rehearsal on Fri and the wedding on Sat. We're planning on going to Pasadena to spend some time with Mike and Nina for Memorial weekend. Then the first weekend in June is my cousin Kim's bridal shower. And then the weekend of June 9 and 10 is the American Cancer Society Relay for Life that I've elected to organize. You know because I don't have enough things going on right now. Actually, I'm super excited about getting involved with Relay this year. I am still in need of more team members, so if anybody would like to join us, please call or email me. We are also looking for donations. Our team is currently back in first place for raising the most money, which I am SOOO excited about. You all know how competitive I am, and I don't want to be beat. We can do this!!! These next couple of weeks I'll start contacting people for more fundraising. So again, if you would like to join our team, PLEASE contact me. We would love to have you.
Well, I've got to get to my to do list, so I best end here. I love you all!!!
