Baby room construction is under way
Yesterday my mom and my brother came over to help me start cleaning out the guest room to make room for baby. Mom wrapped up the framed pictures I had on the wall and the collectibles I had out that I need to store away. Michael helped me clear out all the stuff that was stored under the guest bed and find homes for it elsewhere in the house. Honestly, most of it was shoes, which was funny because he didn't realize I loved shoes that much. I was happy with the progress we made. Now Shawn and I have to figure out which items are going into storage at Thane and Kristi's house. We had originally planned on getting a storage unit, but Thane graciously offered up his garage so we don't have to pay for storage. I know the guest bed is going there for certain. Otherwise, Shawn and I have to figure out which boxes to take to Thane's house and which to put in our garage. Once Shawn gets back from his Mexico fishing trip, we will clear out the rest of the room and then shop for a crib and dresser. I still don't see how everything is going to fit in the baby's room. We need to leave my dresser and the nightstand in there, plus we have the beautiful toy chest my dad made and I'm going to borrow my mom's wood rocking chair. Michael said once we take out the furniture, he can come over and help us figure out the best configuration for the stuff that's staying in there. He's always really good with that kind of stuff. My goal is to have the furniture in place by the beginning of August. Honestly, I realized yesterday that I couldn't do much. I was on my hands and knees getting stuff out from under the bed and think I pulled a muscle or something because the rest of the day my abdomen was tight. Of course, mom and Michael yelled at me. So that makes me really anxious to get the room done by August since I know I will definitely be limited in the next month.
