Happy 10 Month Birthday Baby Girl!

Today is Inara's 10 month birthday. Wow! She is about 28 inches long and still weighs around 19 pounds. I can't wait for everyone to see her who haven't got to see her in awhile. She's getting so big. The biggest news since we've gotten to my parents' house is that she officially has two teeth coming in. They have even broken through, and I can definitely feel them when she gnaws on my fingers. Just a bit painful I must say. But I don't care if it makes her gums feel better. Poor thing has struggled to get to bed the past few nights and has woken up screaming in pain a few times now. I just wish there was more I could do, but it has been nice being able to hold her and cuddle with her which is all she wants when she's crying, something I don't get to do often because she doesn't like it much any more. The other big news is she really loves to stand up. She isn't crawling yet, but she loves to stand. Her legs are stiff and she hasn't gotten the idea of bending her legs and moving her feet yet, but that's fine by me. Again, I'm so not ready for her to walk yet. I'm fine if she starts to crawl and does that for 6 months. Ha ha. So happy 10 month birthday sweet pea!

Our vacation in SoCal has been exactly what I needed. Yesterday I got to lay by the pool and read a magazine while Inara slept. I told my parents the last time I got to do something like that was when I was pregnant with baby last summer. I knew I didn't want to plan a ton of stuff while I was here and instead to totally take advantage of the help with baby and relax, so that's exactly what I've been doing. We did go see my grandma yesterday. It was the first time she got to meet Inara, and she seemed to really appreciate that time with her great-granddaughter. Overall, my grandma seems the same to me. Just a bit older and more fragile. But I know they are working on getting her into a home because she's at the point that she needs constant care. My mom and aunts Eliza and Katie are working hard, and as I always save, have earned their angel wings for all they have done.

Sunday was my dad's 60th birthday. We played in the pool and I made dinner for the fam. For his present, I made him a biography type photo book. I'm very proud of it and I think he really liked it too. I think he had a great day with his kids and granddaughters. I'm realizing more and more what a sucker he is for Kylie and Inara. Lisa was trying to get Kylie to eat her dinner and said she could have a popsicle if she had 4 more bites. She then said Pop, we do have more popsicles, right? He said well if we don't, I'll just have to run to the store and get more for my sharumpa. (That's his special name for Kylie.) He's the great spoiler! But that's what grandparents are supposed to do. I've loved watching him feed Inara the past couple of days. He even came and got her this morning when she woke up. It's too funny watching him with baby girl. It took Inara a day to warm up to him, but now she looks for him the second she hears his voice. Do I even need to say how much she loves her Grandma NeeNee? I told mom I think Inara wants her more than she wants me. Inara loves her Pop and NeeNee. No doubt about it.

This Saturday we are having family over for lunch. My cousin Kim is hopefully coming down with the newest addition to our family, baby Madison. I know my aunt Jeri and the family wanted to see my dad for his birthday, so I planned for them to come down this Saturday and that way we could all see the baby too. I cannot wait to hold Maddie. She's only 5 lbs. 3 oz. It's been awhile since I held such a tiny one, so I'm looking forward to seeing them this weekend.

On Sunday I think Shawn, Inara, and I are going up to Bakersfield to see some friends. Nina is organizing a fundraiser for Team In Training in Bako that weekend, so she and Mike will be there. In case you haven't heard, Mike got a dentist job in Santa Maria, so they have now relocated to Pismo Beach. Good thing they will be in Bako this weekend because I don't think we could swing a trip up that far north. Also, we want to see Greg's new house after all the work he's done on it. Let's hope Inara does well in a car for that long.

Well, I better use the rest of the nap time to get some other things done. Love ya all!
