The weekend update

It's Monday yet again. Why or why must the weekends go by so fast? This past weekend literally flew by for Shawn and I. Friday was a pretty hectic day for me with a Chamber of Commerce breakfast, Arbonne work, and errands. Also, it was my dad's birthday, so we took Pop out to Chris and Pitts for dinner. Yummy!

Saturday Shawn played in a soccer tournament and I was up early to attend an Arbonne training on a boat cruise around the Long Beach harbor. While poor Shawn was frustrated with his soccer team and their performance (we all know he hates to lose), I had a blast at the training. It's such hard work to attend a training, be out in the beautiful sunny weather as we cruise around the harbor, and enjoy it all with good friends. Man, I hate working. Ha ha. I got a few new ideas to help me build my business, so I was most excited about that. However, pregnant girl, as I like to refer to myself, needed a nap when she got home. We then headed out to Rancho Santa Margarita for Shawn's boss's dinner party. It's always a good time at John and Rhonda's. They are seriously the best hosts ever! The food was delish as usual. It was good to hang out with friends for a couple hours as well, as Jason, Rob, Greg and Tracy were there with the rest of Shawn's co-workers.

Sunday morning was another early rise since we had breakfast scheduled with the Tomlinsons and my parents. We went to The Reef in Long Beach. They seriously have the biggest breakfast/brunch buffett I've ever seen with everything you could imagine: omelet bar, sushi bar, pasta bar, stir fry bar, crab legs and tons of other seafood, ribs, mashed potatoes, plus the usual breakfast items like bacon, sausage, waffles, etc., and a ton of desserts. I could only make two trips to the buffett and a small sampling of desserts without overdoing it. My tummy just can't stuff that much, especially with baby taking up so much space now. Of course, the best part of the meal was visiting with family. Barb cracks us up with her silly stories. And we all know how much my dad loves to pick on everyone. I'm getting worried though because the more Shawn is around Pop, he just might start acting like him. Oh no. Two smart-ass wits might be too much to handle. After breakfast, Shawn and I wrapped up the guest bed and loaded up the car to take stuff over to Thane and Kristi's house. Well, actually, Shawn did most of the work lifting boxes because pregnant girl can't do much any more. My dad and brother came over to help too. I also recruited mom to help me with a few house chores. This apartment is a disaster zone right now. But the good news is there is officially room for a crib in the nursery now. Yay! We are going crib shopping on Saturday. Shawn and I are both ready to just buy one that really catches our eye. No more window shopping. Let's just get it over with.

Last night, I thought we'd be productive and get some other projects done, but instead, Shawn convinced me to go see Transformers. I realized that we hadn't done anything just the two of us, so it was a good idea to get in some bonding time, especially since this week we're both busy pretty much every night. I'm so glad he talked me into the movie because I LOVED Transformers. I am in awe of the special effects and want to know how in the heck they made the robots. They are amazing looking. If this doesn't win the Academy Award for best special effects, then there's something wrong with the voters. Besides the special effects, the movie was very enjoyable and yes, I know some people are turned off by the Michael Bay cheese factor of the film, but I can get past that and still enjoy myself. I only wish there was more Josh Duhamel in the film. He's so hot! The main star Shia LeBouf (or however you spell his name) wasn't bad either. He seemed to carry the film, which is good because he's going to have a big role in the next Indiana Jones, so he better be good. Needless to say, after the movie and our long weekend, as soon as we got home, Shawn and I crashed. It felt good to get a solid 8 hours of sleep last night. We both needed it. Let the new week begin.

You kind of threw me off with the whole "hang out with ... Rob ..." I was very confused. Then I realized, duh, it must be another Rob. I told Robby and he said, "A Rob replacement? Noooo!" He is such a dork!

Alex, yes, there is another Rob at Shawn's office now, but he could never be a replacement for Bert, as Uncle Mike calls him. I do wish I saw my cousin as much as I see the new Rob though. I miss you guys, lots!!

Tracy, I find it so weird too that we have two sets of Greg and Tracys. Whenever I talk to my mom, I have to specific if it's the Nicholsons or the Saikis I'm talking about cuz she gets confused too. We also know two sets of Steve and Pams. Kinda crazy.
