Good news in TV land

I am so excited I just read on Yahoo News that Studio 60 has been given a go ahead for the rest of the season. "Studio 60 is a damn good show that deserves attention," NBC President Kevin Reilly said when confirming the pickup. Yippee!!! I love this show. I've never watched an Aaron Sorkin show, but this one rocks. I envy the writing. It's so smart, which is probably why the show isn't doing so hot in the ratings: most people don't want to think when they watch TV. Of course, I'm the opposite most of the time: I want to watch something that keeps my brain working as I scramble to keep up with the rapid fire dialogue that is injected with wittiness and cultural references. It's a show that has a heart as well. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford are hot either. Of course, I have to end on the hottness factor.

Why does everything cool have to happen on the same day?

It seems like months ago that Jason asked a bunch of us if we wanted to go to the Bare Naked Ladies concert on Nov. 29th. At that time, I didn't have anything else going on, plus Kristi's always raved about BNL live, so I figured why not...count me in. Of course, I sit at home every other night doing nothing but catching up on my Tivo'd shows only wishing there was a killer concert to attend that night. Why does it always seem that every cool show is scheduled for the same night? I recently found out that INXS is performing a dream-come-true gig at the HOB in Anaheim. Yes, I could be inches away from JD Fortune, close enough that I could reach out and grab him, but NOOOOOOO! The damn show is on Nov. 29th. Why do the gods tease me like this? Don't they know how much I am in love with Mr. Rockstar? Then to add more salt to the wound, I just found out my other heartthrob sexy himself Butch Walker is playing at Hollywood Cafe, a cool intimate stage that I've been dying to see, but, yep, you guessed it: the show is Nov. 29th. Why ME? Why do all these shows have to be on the same damn night? Ugh! Now I'm super depressed because I wish I had a couple clones that could attend the other shows for me. Better yet, I wish I had that cool necklace Hermione wore in the last Harry Potter movie where she could time travel. At least now I know what to ask Shawn to buy me for Christmas.

2007 is officially the year of the wedding

I am thrilled to report that my cousin Kim is now engaged to her adorable boyfriend Danny. I am so excited for the two of them. Danny is a sweetheart and will be a wonderful addition to the family. Kim will be graduating from college in May, so next year will be a busy one for her. Actually, next year will be busy for us as well since this now makes 4 weddings we will be attending in '07. Two of Shawn's best friends start us off: Greg Saiki will be getting married on May 19 followed by CJ Martin on July 7. Both will be in Bakersfield. September 29 our friend Thien is getting married in Vegas. And now Kim has to pick a date, which she said will probably be in Aug or Sept. Like I said, 2007 is the year of the wedding.
